A Chinese writer intends to sue American director James Cameron and to claim damages of 147 million dollars, accusing him of plagiarizing a novel by him in 1997 for scenario film “Avatar”.
Chinese writer Zhou Shaomou initiated a court action in the High Court of Justice of Beijing maintains that 80% of plot and thematic grounds of Avatar are similar to those of his novel, “Tale of the Blue Crows”, published in 1997.
Story signed by Chinese author has focused on the six astronauts traveling to a distant planet inhabited by creatures with blue skin. The author claims that the place where the action unfolds and the characters are similar to those of “Avatar”.
